Veltec was started because we felt SLA rapid prototyping was too costly for most professionals and researchers. As mechanical engineers ourselves, we always prefer to see and feel our designs before sending them out for tooling. However, prototyping companies have labeled SLA as high tech and charged outrageous prices for simple SLA parts. Due to the high cost of SLA, many people have shy away from using SLA prototypes. Therefore, our #1 goal is to allow everyone, from students to professionals, to take advantage of the SLA technology by making it affordable.

Our Business Model
To reach our goals and not starve ourselves, first we run a tight ship. We choose our promotions carefully and ensure every advertising dollar pays for itself. We streamline our procedures and building processes. We don't have any fancy items (like $5000 carpeting of some of the now bankrupt businesses). As hands-on engineers, we never pay for any services that we can do ourselves.

Second, we're straight shooters. There are no tricks in what we do, just good, old-fashioned, reliable business principles. We do not bait our customers with a low quote and then jack up the price once we received a deposit for the part. We believe in the old saying, "You can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin it once." So, unless you made changes to the CAD file, our first quote is the ONLY quote. What's the end result of all this? Well, we're happy to tell you that we're a small but profitable company that expects to be in business for many years to come. All this, of course, is due to value conscious customers like you.

Our SLA Capabilities
We have 3 industry-leading 3D Systems SLA machines, SLA 250, SLA 3500, and Viper Si2. SLA 250 is our workhorse due to its versatility and reliability. SLA 3500 builds mid to large size SLA parts. Our Logo and Name:
Many of our customers were curious about our name and our logo. Veltec was dervied from Latin Prefix Velo, meaning fast, and the word technology. Because we are in the rapid prototyping business, we chose our name to be "fast technology".

Our logo consists of four V's. Obiviously V stands for Veltec. The V that is not fill represents a CAD model. The filled V's represent the prototypes made using the CAD model.
